Design
Guided by the quest for perfectly balanced and streamlined volumes, the style of the 508 suggests a vehicle "sculpted from a solid mass", reflecting attributes of elegance, robustness and build quality.
At the front, the 508 illustrates Peugeot's evolving aesthetic codes with a unique grill rendered in a fluid style, and finely-worked headlights with their feline look. On the versions fitted with bi-xenon directional headlamps, LED lighting tubes give the 508 an original visual signature. Similarly, at the rear, three prominent red claws mask three rows of LED's. The sides of the car are purposefully streamlined, enhanced by the contours of the windows.
The streamlined style of the dashboard, the materials used, the meticulous finish, carefully-designed durability and the technologies available contribute to the top-of-the-range feel of the passenger compartment.
The 508 has an instrument panel of 5 dials with backlighting, red needles and a mono or coloured display matrix (depending on the version). The matrix provides information concerning the journey, radio, data relating to navigation (available as an option) and the cruise control / speed limiter.
In conjunction with the bi-Xenon headlights (standard, optional or not available depending on the version), the front LED 'lighting tubes' daytime running lamps give the 508 an original visual signature.
The theme of the lion and its claws are evident in the rear light LED visual signature of the 508 sedan.
Technology
With the 508, you have the opportunity of using electronic recognition (Hands-free access and start-up) rather than the traditional key (depending on the version). So, with the identifier still in your pocket (or handbag) you can access your vehicle, start it and stop it simply by using the Start/Stop button. The vehicle can be locked again on exiting simply by touching the door handle.
For optimal individual comfort, there are either two or four air conditioning zones (depending on the version), allowing passengers to set the air conditioning temperature and speed to suit their individual requirements.
The head-up display feature (standard, optional or not available depending on the version) projects essential driving information in colour onto a retractable panel located within the driver's field of vision: speed, speed limiter warnings, navigation (if fitted) etc. The driver therefore has access to the information without taking their eyes of the road.
Parking Space Measurement System*
This function is coupled with the front and rear parking assistance. It measures the space available and indicates on the multifunction screen whether you can park there and the level of difficulty of the manoeuvre to be carried out.

The 508 has undergone an extensive testing program, completing 2 million kms of road testing in real-life conditions prior to launch, ensuring its quality, reliability and durability is first-class.
Safety
The Peugeot 508 provides a high level of active and passive safety, offering optimum protection without compromising driving enjoyment.
The main beam assistance system (standard, optional or not available, depending on the version) detects oncoming traffic and will automatically switch the headlights from high beam to main beam and back again for the on-coming driver's visual comfort and your enhanced safety. This option is only available in conjunction with bi-Xenon headlights.
The 508 can be equipped with directional bi-Xenon headlamps (standard, optional or not available depending on the version) offering: a modern and positive LED visual signature; adaptive main-beam headlamps; directional function.
Airbags In the event of a collision, 6 airbags provide passengers with a high degree of protection: 2 front airbags, 2 side airbags at the front and 2 curtain airbags front and back.
ESP The 508 is fitted with the latest-generation ESP, which includes DSC (dynamic stability control), EBA (emergency brake assist) and EBD (electronic brake force distribution). It also includes Hill Assist as well as intelligent traction control improving the vehicle's ability to move off and be driven on slippery road surfaces by authorising more or less wheel slip on each of the front wheels
Road holding Peugeot has always set the standard in terms of road holding and, consequently, driving enjoyment. At the front, two types of suspension are available: The all-new McPherson-type front axle offers a new, high level synthesis of road holding and ride comfort.
The 508 GT features a drop link dual wishbone front axle enabling a high level of body rigidity and driving accuracy. At the rear, the entire range is equipped with a multi-arm rear suspension, designed to ensure excellent efficiency and maximum comfort.
5-star safety The European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP) assesses the safety levels of every new car. The 508 achieved 5 stars in the adult occupant protection tests, the highest level possible and proof of Peugeot's continued commitment to your safety.
