What Car? Car of the Year 2010 & 2011

After a stunning European debut capped by being named the overall Car of the Year 2010 and Best Crossover 2010 by influential UK magazine What Car?, the Peugeot 3008 compact SUV has reinforced its credentials by again claiming Best Crossover 2011.

Technology

The Peugeot 3008 is packed with technology, including breakthrough developments that improve safety and driving pleasure while reducing the car's impact on the environment. Innovations include Dynamic Roll Control, Grip Control and Head-up Display with Distance Alert radar (depending on the version). In addition, the construction of the car itself involves cutting edge technology and materials to reduce weight and emissions without compromising safety.

Head up display

This innovative safety technology projects all essential driver information such as vehicle speed, cruise control / speed limiter and distance alert information at eye level, so you can keep your eye on the road at all times. The Distance Alert coupled with the Head-up Display (depending on the version) uses a special radar to help the driver maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

Grip Control®

An evolution of the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), the optional Grip Control is an advanced traction control system that enables the 3008 to grip the road with confidence in all conditions by optimising the traction of both front wheels. Five modes are available: standard, snow, all terrain, sand and ESP off. Grip control comes standard with special 16" Mud and Snow tyres to enhance traction on difficult surfaces.

Distance alert®

For more safety and control, this new innovative system (depending on the version) helps you to maintain a safe distance from the car in front. The Head-up Display highlights the time, in seconds, between you and the vehicle in front. Using toggle switches, you can adjust the time set and the Head-up Display highlights this information. This innovation also reduces potential hazards by projecting all essential driver information at eye level, so you can keep your eyes on the road at all times.

Dynamic Rolling Control

Thanks to Peugeot’s expertise in roadholding technology, the front and rear axle systems on 3008 are designed to provide handling worthy of a saloon. Dynamic Roll Control® (depending on the version)improves the car's dynamic qualities, reduces roll and delivers even greater comfort. This rear hydraulic suspension coupling system optimises the compromise between comfort and body resistance on corners.

Thanks to the know-how of Peugeot, this practical and spacious vehicle delivers an exhilarating and refined performance. Whether you opt for its turbo petrol or choice of two HDi turbo diesel engines, it takes the dynamic drive from a hatch and refinement of a saloon.

A responsive vehicle, the 3008 used the latest technologies to better ensure the safety of its occupants and other road users. It delivers dynamic behaviour of the highest standards, alongside a high level of safety which ensured the 3008 achieved the maximum 5 star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Environment

Dynamic performance, space and respect for the environment. Uniquely, the 3008 delivers all three through innovative technologies, materials and construction. Lower emissions and a car of this size do not normally go together, but the 3008 is no normal car. Fuel consumption is much lower than you would expect and CO2 emissions are an exceptionally low 135g/km for the 1.6 HDi with EGC transmission.
